Tesla - New US Electro Car

Last Wednesday the Financial Times ran a piece indicating that Tesla was now formally setting its sights on Europe. This is the first of what will be an increasing effort on our part to build the Tesla brand on the European continent with the anticipation of delivering cars to customers starting in the middle of 2009.

The idea that Tesla would expand internationally is nothing new – that has been our intention all along. There are many reasons why Europe is a very attractive market, outlined below. The thing that is new here is the timing of our expansion plans.

While issues of global warming and sustainability have become part of the mainstream progressive thinking in the United States in the past couple of years, Europeans have been passionate about them for a while now.

Porsche erweitert Modellangebot bei Mittelmotor-Sportwagen

Stuttgart. Mit zwei Modellneuheiten rundet die Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, ihr sportliches Mittelmotor-Programm nach oben ab. Die beiden Neuheiten, der Porsche Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 und der Cayman S Sport, leisten mit 303 PS (223 kW) aus 3,4 Liter Hubraum nun acht PS mehr als die jeweiligen S-Versionen. Beide Modelle verfügen über exklusive Ausstattungsumfänge, die durch ein markantes Fahrzeugdesign betont werden, und sind ab Anfang September im Handel erhältlich.

Die Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, zeigte erstmals den neuen Boxster RS 60 Spyder in Deutschland. Auf der 18. Auto Mobil International (AMI) feierte das jüngste Modell der erfolgreichen Boxster-Baureihe ab 4. April seine nationale Premiere. Gleichzeitig sind auf der Automesse in Leipzig, dem zweiten Produktionsstandort von Porsche neben dem Stammwerk in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, weitere Highlights zu besichtigen gewesen: Der innovative Antriebsstrang des zukünftigen, besonders sparsamen Cayenne mit Full Parallel Hybrid sowie der Rennwagen Porsche RS Spyder.

Mit acht Gesamtsiegen im Rahmen der American Le Mans Series (ALMS) 2007 hat sich der RS Spyder als jener in Deutschland konstruierte und gebaute Rennwagen mit den meisten internationalen Gesamtsiegen erwiesen. Außerdem verwendet der RS Spyder bei seinen Erfolgsfahrten in Amerika den besonders umweltverträglichen E10-Treibstoff mit zehn Volumen Prozent Bioethanol. Continue Reading »

Der Audi TTS

Audi bringt einen neuen Sportwagen an den Start – im Frühsommer rollt der Audi TTS, das Topmodell der TT-Baureihe, zu den Händlern. Sein Zweiliter-TFSI ist ein Hochleistungsmotor, er gibt satte 200 kW (272 PS) ab. Mit dieser geballten Kraft beschleunigt er das TTS Coupé mit S tronic in nur 5,2 Sekunden aus dem Stand auf 100 km/h und weiter auf abgeregelte 250 km/h Topspeed. Der Audi TTS ist als 2 + 2 sitziges Coupé und als Roadsterlieferbar.

Mit dem TTS, der sich an eine besonders junge, dynamische Kundschaft wendet, beschreibt die Marke mit den Vier Ringen den neuesten Stand ihres Vorsprungsdurch Technik. Beim TFSI-Motor des TTS gehen die beiden Audi-Technologien Benzin-Direkteinspritzung und Turboaufladung eine ideale Verbindung ein. Der kompakt und leicht bauende Vierzylinder imponiert nicht nur mit 200 kW (272 PS) Leistung, sondern auch mit einem maximalen Drehmoment von 350 Nm, das von 2.500 bis 5.000 1/min konstant bereit steht.
