Der stärkste auf Basis des Porsche 911, der in der vergangenen Saison unter anderem die American Le Mans Series und die 24 Stunden am gewinnen konnte, geht in der GT2 bei internationalen Langstreckenrennen an den Start. Deutlichstes Erkennungszeichen des RSR ist die neu gestaltete Frontpartie mit großflächigen Entlüftungsöffnungen auf der Fronthaube. Doch auch unter der Leichtbau-Karosserie wurde der schnellste kräftig überarbeitet.

Bereits auf den ersten Blick fallen die Entlüftungsschlitze, die so genannten Louvers, in der Fronthaube ins Auge: Ein Hinweis auf die komplett erneuerte Luftführung der Kühler, die durch die Neuauslegung von Zu- und Abluft bei Verbau der optional erhältlichen Klimaanlage nötig wurde.
